Staff: White Collared Jobs

Cate A: Post Graduate: a person with post graduation degree, MBA, CS, CA or other such professional degree

Cate B: Any Graduate or undergraduate with office work related diploma/certificate course

Cate C: Matriculate with certificate of steno typist, computer/data entry operator, accountancy, timekeeper, salesman

Cate D: any class IV employee deployed for working in office, (including casual, through contractor or on contract basis.

Bargain-able Category Blue Collered

Unskilled: Gate keeper, undermatric peon, chowkidar, sweeper (without machines or electric gadgets), Poster boy, Gardner, Labourer, helper, pantry man, Loader unloader, Attendant etc. (please watch out there is different category for office staff).

Semi-Skilled: person with certificate course, ITI course, trainee or an apprentice after completing training, unskilled person with 10 years experience, sweeper with 2 years experience, housekeeping staff using machines/electrical gadgets, Security guard not trained under Private security agencies Act, Diploma

Skilled: 3 year Diploma Holder, or a semi skilled employee with 5 years experience, Security Guard trained under the act, Supervisory staff who cant take independent decisions, clerk, time keeper, salesman, office assistant, accountant, data entry/computer operator, LMV Drivers

Highly Skilled: Security Supervisor, Diploma in Accountancy, computers, stenography, supervisory staff, graduate cler, Heavy Vehicle Drivers.

22. What are the Scheduled Employments under the Minimum Wages Act in the Central Sphere?

  > Watch and Ward (Security Services)
  > Sweeping and Cleaning
  > Loading and Unloading Operations in Railway Good shed

Cities A & B for the purposes of minimum wages under the central sphere. The cities which are not specifically mentioned here, falls in C category.

Area “A” and Area “B” as indicated in Annexure to this notification shall respectively comprise all the places as specified in the said annexure as such areas, and include all places within a distance of fifteen kilometres from the periphery of a Municipal Corporation or Municipality or Cantonment Board or Notified Area Committee of a particular place. Area “C” shall comprise of all the other places not mentioned in Area “A” and “B” of the Annexure and to which the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (11 of 1948) extends;
